about Soft Strength
Soft Strength is a movement philosophy that prioritizes fluidity, resilience, and deep body awareness. It goes beyond building muscle to foster a mindful relationship with movement, recognizing that true strength comes from understanding and respecting our bodies’ unique needs and limitations. This approach promotes movement optimism—the belief that we can move with joy and confidence at any stage of life. By focusing on ease and adaptability, Soft Strength helps individuals navigate discomfort, transform their perception of pain, and discover new possibilities in movement. Through an emphasis on fascial planes and functional movement patterns, Soft Strength supports anatomical and biomechanical integrity, allowing for more efficient, pain-free movement.
My classes are designed to meet you wherever you are in your movement journey. Small Group Strength Training integrates weight-based exercises with functional movement patterns to develop power and stability while maintaining a deep connection to the body's natural mechanics. Mat-Based Soft Strength blends elements of yoga, Pilates, and somatic movement to build strength and flexibility while enhancing body awareness. Chair-Based Soft Strength offers a gentle yet effective seated practice that improves balance, coordination, and mobility. Muscle Mending is a restorative class focused on easing tension, enhancing recovery, and promoting overall well-being.
In addition to these core offerings, I provide bespoke classes tailored for groups with shared interests, such as athletes, musicians, gardeners, runners, and rock climbers. These sessions address the unique challenges of repetitive movements, helping participants prevent injuries, improve performance, and cultivate a deeper understanding of their body mechanics. All classes are available in group settings or can be customized as private sessions to better align with individual goals.
Soft Strength is more than a workout—it’s a practice that encourages exploration, mindfulness, and self-compassion. Whether you’re new to movement or an experienced mover, my classes provide a welcoming environment where you can build strength, improve mobility, and find joy in motion. Join me in discovering the power of movement through the philosophy of Soft Strength!
